God's Greatest Gift to the World!

December 2, 2018

When God gave His greatest gift to the world. . .

He conducted no  market research. . . He designed no expensive ad campaign. . . He had no celebrity spokesperson. .  He used no media hype. . . He phrased no catchy slogans. . . And He allowed no gimmicks.

In God's amazing plan of salvation. . . He sent His Son. . . Born unto unknown parents. . . In an obscure village. . . Unnoticed by the world. . . To bring us an unforgettable message!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16

Christmas and giving are inseparable, for God established the pattern for giving when He gave the gift of His Son who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of a virgin  According to John 3:16, God makes salvation available to everyone who believes.

As Christmas approaches and you select gifts for your family and friends, reflect for a moment on the generous gift that God gave to us on that first Christmas.

An angel was sent to announce the birth of a baby, and a group of shepherds guarding their sheep were the first to receive the good news on that special day "A Savior was born for you.  He is Christ the Lord."  Luke 2:11

It was those shepherds who came to see Jesus. The people of Bethlehem had no idea that the Son of God was asleep in their midst.  But it was not long before the word of His birth swept through that little village and spread to other towns and cities.

Today, approximately 2000 years later, we open our Bibles and read of that glorious night when the heavens opened and the angels proclaimed the Good News about the Greatest Gift of All-Our Savior, Jesus Christ!

From my household to yours, may the beauty of God's gift fill your heart with joy this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas and God bless you!
