God's Greatest Gift to the World

DECEMBER 4, 2014

When God gave His greatest gift to the world. . . . .

He conducted no market research.  He designed no expensive ad campaign.  He had no celebrity spokesperson.  He used no media hype.  He phrased no catchy slogans.   And He allowed no gimmicks.

In God's amazing plan of salvation, He sent His Son.  Born to unknown parents in an obscure village.  Unnoticed by the world to bring an unforgettable message!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Christmas and giving are inseparable, for God Himself established the pattern for giving when He gave the gift of His Son who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and and was born of a virgin.  According to John 3:16, God makes the gift of salvation available to everyone who believes.

As we enjoy this Christmas season and give gifts to family members and friends, reflect for a moment on the generous gift that God give us on that first Christmas.

An angel was sent to announce the birth of a baby, and a group of shepherds were the first to receive the good news on that special day " . . . .A Savior was born for you.  He is Christ the Lord."  Luke 2:11

Today, approximately 2000 years later, we open our Bibles and read of that glorious night when the heavens opened and the angels proclaimed the Good News about the Greatest Gift of All--Our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Merry Christmas and God bless you!
